Mladen Vinković (National Protection and Rescue Directorate)

Crisis management systems have been recently using more and more the information-communication tools that provide support in commanding, supervision and coordination in crises, and they consist of databases and operating procedures integrated in common organization structure, designed so as to improve the information exchange and transparency of action in case of major accidents and disasters, when a large number of operating forces participates in the rescue activities and remediation of consequences.

The characteristics of such systems are high speed of information exchange and security, adequate IT support, user-friendliness, users being educated at all levels (strategic, tactical and operating), as well as adjustment with the current plans and standard operating procedures. The aim of the workshop is to present a system that is in the implementation phase in the Republic of Croatia.

The workshop is primarily intended for the representatives of the operating forces of the civil protection system (civil protection headquarters, firefighting, Croatian Mountain Rescue Service, Croatian Red Cross, civil protection forces and citizen’s associations), heads of local and regional self-government units, who join the implementation of measures and activities of civil protection.

The workshop is intended for the employees of public and state institutions, as well as private persons who participate in the civil protection system.
