Crises are a part of today’s everyday life, from terrorist to financial and economic ones. Various changes in economic, political, social and other processes have a crucial impact on the way and quality of life for every citizen. National security is one of fundamental security categories. Considering that national security, economic stability and economic development are the most important national interests, it is necessary to monitor and control external and internal threats. Recent events in the Republic of Croatia have shown that large companies can destabilize the state of security in the country.
Leading experts in the field of crisis management will gather at the jubilary tenth international scientific and professional conference “Crisis Management Days”, organized by the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica.
It is in fact one of the most important conferences in the field of crisis management in terms of the continuous improvement of the system and prevention, as well as the efficient response to potential crises and emergency situations; which is to be held on May 23 and 24, 2018 at the Hotel Istra, depadance Neptun, Brijuni, Croatia. As the main aim of the conference, the organizers emphasize the contribution to the promotion and improvement of the system related to civil protection, management and commanding in disasters, as well as other types of emergency situations.
The conference will include six more specific thematic areas: contemporary security threats; security of local communities and crisis management; business continuity; crisis communications and danger management; system, devices, tools and equipment for crisis management; and environmental security and sustainability, which have been designed to attract responsible persons in public and private organizations, cities, municipalities and counties, who can make decisions on the procurement of equipment or contracting certain services.
It may be added that the conference, whose official languages are Croatian and English, this year offers interesting additional activities, such as presentations of technological achievements and modern equipment for providing support in the prevention and management of crisis situations.
