2022 Conference Topics

Conference topics

1. Contemporary threats and new risks

In the modern world, there is more and more uncertainty and unpredictability in the field of security. Traditional threats, changes in the environment, new threats and new risks, make modern security one of the most complex areas of action for nations and governments. Given this complexity, a country must, in the context of modern security, become aware of all the dangers. Some countries are still oriented towards their own security challenges, while others are adapting their foreign policy to the reconstructing architecture of international relations.

2. Corporate security

Companies are increasingly recognizing the clear need to introduce a special function that will deal with the security sector. The term corporate security is recognizable as a term that means the protection of business entities, especially large companies or corporations. In addition to the function of physical and technical protection, information system protection, intellectual property, trademarks and similar assets, corporate security includes crisis management and risk analysis in order to eliminate all forms of threats, reduce the consequences of their actions and ensure business continuity.

3. Information and cyber security

Information and communication technologies have become the foundation, and in some cases the (pre) condition of the functioning of numerous social, economic and educational processes as a whole, and their representation continues to grow from year to year. In accordance with the impact that information and communication technology already has, there is a growing frequency of adverse events that are no longer just technical in nature, but are complex, focused and often layered. Achieving growth and development in all areas requires infrastructure that is adequate, safe and resilient, i.e. able to meet the requirements required of it and at the same time continue to meet these requirements in the realization of various threats, whose number and type are growing daily. In order to achieve, maintain and ensure an adequate level of information and cyber security, and due to their multidisciplinary nature, it is necessary to work in virtually all areas in order to achieve a synergy of experts from all related fields. Possible topics include: malware, computer networks, communication technologies, electronic services, data protection, cyber attacks, social networks, computer fraud, e-learning, security technologies, methods and tools.

4. Psychosocial and health aspects of disasters and crises

The mental health of an individual has come under attack as one of the consequences of epidemiological measures. We invite authors to present their experiences and insights on mental health and psychological resilience in a pandemic, as well as psychosocial interventions after major disasters such as last year’s earthquakes in Croatia.

The global pandemic has severely strained health care systems around the world, and in Croatia the system has come under additional pressure in the quake-hit area. We want to encourage discussion on the organization of health care in emergencies, epidemics as well as measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in crisis situations.

5. Green transition and sustainable development

Climate change and environmental degradation are a challenge for all members of the European Union, including the Republic of Croatia. Ecological crises are changing basic economic activity, the behavior of consumers and producers. Therefore, the question arises on how will the region transfer into the direction of green technologies, fulfill the European Green Plan, and thus reach the goals of sustainable development. The thematic unit aims to provide the most up-to-date research in the process of adapting to a green and economically efficient Europe and achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
