Integrating Cyber Security Incident Response and Business Continuity
Cyber Attacks and Cyber Security Incidents are on the increase, they are becoming more sophisticated and in many cases making news headlines. Various standards and literature describe in detail how to handle such attacks from containment through to evidence gathering.
Whilst technical standards to address attacks are critical, such attacks can cause major business interruption and may require the invocation of Business Continuity plans. In many organizations however Business Continuity is considered a separate discipline often practiced by teams that have no interface or communication with Cyber Security Specialists. This often means that plans are not aligned leading to a fragmented and in some cases chaotic response.
This lecture will examine how organizations can integrate these two disciplines to ensure that organizations can react to such attacks in effective manner whilst still delivering professional services to the customer.
